In the Alchemist, Santiago meets the girl at the well in Al-Fayoum called Fatima. When he met her, the Soul of the World surged him and he learned the most important part of languages of the world which is love. When he saw her for the first time, he felt in love with her and he knew she was her destiny girl. Then at night he met Fatima and said "I want you to be my wife." (The Alchemist, pg91) and he said "I'm going to wait here for you every day. I have crossed the desert in search of a treasure that is somewhere near the pyramids, and for me, the war seemed a curse. But now it's blessing, because it brought me to you." (The Alchemist, pg91) Then he tried to give up everything and live with his destiny girl, Fatima. So he had to make a decision with treasure and Fatima. However, Fatima told him to find his destiny and treasure than come back because the desert women are proud and it's their job to wait for their men who went out in wars. So Santiago could successfully find his destiny and treasure with determination. So in this story, Santiago's love is Fatima and she helped him to make decisions and keep him in finding what he had to find.
